The closed-won handoff is the transfer of a newly won customer, with its commitments and context, from Sales to the onboarding or Customer Success team.

Promises made during the sale, such as goals, timelines and special terms, often live only in a rep’s head or call notes. If they do not travel with the account, the customer has to repeat themselves and onboarding starts on the wrong foot.

Trigger the handoff automatically at closed-won with a required set of fields: the customer’s goals, key contacts, contracted scope, agreed dates and known risks. Track completeness of that record and the time from close to the kickoff meeting.
