Pipeline coverage is the ratio of open pipeline value expected to close in a period to the revenue target still to be won in that period.

Coverage tells leadership early whether there is enough pipeline to hit the number, and how much to generate if not. It is only as good as the close dates and stage definitions behind it; stale opportunities inflate it.

Pipeline coverage = open pipeline with a close date in the period ÷ (target − closed-won so far). Set the coverage you need from your own historical win rate by value (roughly its inverse), and calculate it by segment and team rather than only in total.
